The following is food for thought. Just my current opinion. You probably think I am going to reference vaccines or politics! No. No. Relax! : )
For years, I wondered about my purpose in life. It plagued me. Only recently has a train of thought led me to the following:
A person’s purpose in life does not have a definitive end. There is no finish line. It is a process of growth. It is the process that is the important part. I cannot say exactly what my purpose is because it seems to be continually unfolding. I know it involves helping people, animals, and nature. This has been a common thread throughout my life. Before I retired, I was a teacher. When I was 7 or 8 years old, each spring I tried to save the baby birds that fell out of the nests underneath the Spanish tiles of our neighbor’s house.
As far as a person’s purpose in this life, in my opinion, it is whatever is in your heart to do. If it is in your heart, you probably have the natural abilities, but even if you don’t, just having the desire is enough. Often, we hear people talk about athletes, or in the horse world, horses, as having heart. An athlete could have all the ability and physical strength, but without a strong desire to excel, there is no outlet for their talent. Whereas a strong desire can override the lack of natural ability.
If you are wondering what your purpose is, just ask yourself, what lights up your heart!
